Onboarding Landing Page: Clinical Reasoning

Welcome to Clinical Reasoning!

Clinical Reasoning by McGraw Hill is a digital learning tool designed to help future clinicians build confidence in their diagnostic reasoning skills using a structured, evidence-based framework. 

In this Onboarding Guide you will find everything you need to set up your Clinical Reasoning trial or subscription, including your must-do next steps:

  1. Send registration instructions to your users  
  2. Schedule touchpoint training with Customer Success  
  3. Promote Clinical Reasoning

#1. Send registration instructions to your users

To create your Clinical Reasoning account, go to https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com and sign up with your institutional email address (e.g. Meredith.Grey@university.edu). If you already have a Boards & Beyond or First Aid Forward account with the same email address, you will see a message that your accounts will be linked and your password will be the same for all accounts. 

We know detailed instructions can be helpful, so please feel free to share the following instructions with your users:

To create your Clinical Reasoning account:

  1. Go to https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com 
    • You can be on- or off-campus. 
  2. Enter your institutional email address (e.g. Meredith.Grey@university.edu)  
    • You must use your institutional email address because that is what connects you to our subscription. 
    • If you have a Boards & Beyond or First Aid Forward account with the same email address, tyour account(s) will be linked to your Clinical Reasoning account. You'll use the same password. 
  3. Enter your information.
  4. Select your Account Creation Method.  
    • Receive Temporary Access Link: You will receive an email with a link to sign in. The link is temporary—it is one-time use and must be used within 24 hours. 
    • Enter Password Manually: Set a password. If you have a Boards & Beyond or First Aid Forward account with the same email, your accounts will be linked and the password you enter here will be the new password for your Boards & Beyond/First Aid Forward account.  
  5. Acknowledge the terms and conditions.
  6. Click Continue. 
  7. Check your email; click on the link you receive to sign in.  
    • If you selected Temporary Access Link as your Account Creation Method, click the link to be verified and sign in.  
    • If you selected Enter Password Manually as your Account Creation Method, you will be taken to the sign in page. Select Enter Password Manually and enter your password. You will receive an email from us. Click the link to be verified and sign in. The verification link is only necessary the first time you sign in; next time, you’ll be able to just enter your password and sign in. 
  8. You now have access to Clinical Reasoning! Sign in at https://clinicalreasoning.mheducation.com. You can use a password or temporary access link.  
  9. Renew your access: every 180 days, you must sign in using the temporary access link to re-verify your account and maintain your access. 

Notes: 

  • These instructions are not applicable to token trials (you will have received custom registration instructions from us with with your tokens). 
  • All users need to create their own account; there is no way to create accounts for users  

#2. Schedule touchpoint training with Customer Success

Our Customer Success team is here to support you throughout the life of your subscription. Schedule a touchpoint training with them to make sure you and your users have everything you need to access your subscription and troubleshoot any issues or questions. You should hear from them within the first week of your new subscription; if you don't, or need something sooner, reach out to them at CustomerSuccess@mheducation.com

Our Customer Success Librarians can help with:

  • Training sessions on using our products
  • Promotional materials and outreach ideas
  • Resources for getting the most out of our our products
  • Help with administrative functions, such as pulling usage statistics
  • Questions about site contents or features

3. Promote Clinical Reasoning

Promote Clinical Reasoning by sharing registration instructions, copying our LibGuide, and sharing the Clinical Reasoning flyer. More promotional resources, including a faculty email template, how-to videos, and testimonials, are coming to this page soon.
