Boards & Beyond: Faculty Tools (New)

Overview

With Faculty Tools in Boards & Beyond, you can make groups, create assignments, view student activity, and more. Please follow this step-by-step guide to get your account and your students set up..

Step 1: Familiarize Yourself with B&B

Watch this brief overview of Boards & Beyond narrated by Executive Editor, Dr. Delia Chiaramonte. The video covers pre-clinical and clinical uses of the product, how to incorporate it for teaching and learning, and also previews the Clinical Confidence product.

Step 4: Learn How to Set Up a Group

Watch this brief overview video to learn how to set up groups (create, edit, delete, duplicate), add associate group admins, and change group ownership.

Step 7: Learn How to Create Assignments

Watch this brief overview video to learn how to create and edit video playlists and quiz assignments, send assignments to groups and individual students, and create duplicate assignments.

Step 2: Create an Account

Reach out to your Boards & Beyond administrator to create a Faculty Tools account. If you don't know who your administrator is, contact CustomerSuccess@mheducation.com. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into the Faculty Tools at https://institution.boardsbeyond.com/. This link is different than the main Boards & Beyond site.
  2. Refer to our Quick Start Reference or the videos below to learn more about using the Faculty Tools.
  3. We recommend you create a student account, which will be linked to your faculty account (same password), as the search functionality is better and (2) you can put your student self into any groups/assignments you create. The student sign in link can be found here.

Step 5: Learn How to Add Students to Your Group

Watch this brief overview video to learn how to invite students to your group directly through lookup or CSV roster upload, share a link to students for them to request to join your group, and remove students from the group.

Step 6: Learn How to Send Messages to Students

Institutional Admin Information

Most faculty can ignore this. The Institutional Administrator is the "superuser" for your institution. There is one Institutional Administrator per institution. The Institutional Administrator has Faculty Tools access AND can create Faculty Tools accounts.
